The Challenge
With over 800 customers in over 60 countries, our client is a leading global producer of engineered polymers based in Houston, Texas, with regional offices in Rotterdam and Shanghai. Their products are used in various applications, including consumer and personal care items, adhesives and coatings, electronics, medical supplies, automotive components, and more. As part of their expansion plans, our client established a new plant in Mailiao, Taiwan. To support their growing operations and address the cyclical nature of their business, they needed a supply chain management partner who could provide local warehousing and transportation support. This is where Morrison Express came in.
The Solution
Following a thorough analysis of their business, we designed a project team for the client with the logistics knowledge required for this type of operation. The team identified the necessary warehouse space, developed the IT infrastructure – from Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) to track-and-trace – and established a freight management process that could improve warehouse operations and integrate with the client’s ERP system through EDI.
The Result
As the plant successfully opened, one thing is clear: Morrison Express’s local presence, IT flexibility and customization, and extensive experience have set the stage for a robust and long-lasting partnership. We invested significant effort in developing comprehensive documentation and reinforcing our commitment to our client’s success. These extra steps mattered.
